Jesus Christ says: I am the way, the truth, and life

Please this coalition of the work that you are about to read is not of human efforts but by the power of the Holy Spirit.

I am the way, the truth and life (John 14.6)

Jesus said unto Thomas, one of the Apostles: I am the way, the truth and the life. Believers in Jesus Christ, how much do we understand this sayings of Jesus Christ?

Jesus Christ with His apostles. He was telling them about His kingdoms on this planet earth and the Heavens of heavens. This chapter in John 14 started with Jesus consoling His apostles because of what He told them in the previous chapter about Him going back to heaven from where He came.

John 13. 33-36

33 Little children, yet a little while I am with you. Ye shall seek me: and as I said unto the Jews, Whither I go, ye cannot come; so now I say to you.
34 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.
35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.
36 Simon Peter said unto him, Lord, whither goest thou? Jesus answered him. Whither I go, thou canst not follow me now; but thou shalt follow me afterwards.

In this verse 35, Jesus Christ told them plainly that He is going back to heaven from where He came and that the disciples will follow Him after. But Peter being Peter asked Jesus where is He going. Jesus explained to Peters question saying again that they cannot follow Him now but Peter insisted that he will follow Him.

Jesus told Peter what will happen to him that very night that Jesus would be taken by the elders, the priests for crucifixion. Although the whole scenario was not at first clear to the apostles.
“I am the way, the truth and life” Let us ask ourselves why will Jesus say He is the way to God. Well, the answer is in John 10.7-9.

7 Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep.
8 All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them.
9 I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.
Every believers in Jesus Christ is described as sheep and Christ their shepherd. This word shepherd makes Jesus Christ God.  How? One may asked.

Psalms 80.1-19

1 Give ear, O Shepherd of Israel, thou that leadest Joseph like a flock; thou that dwellest between the cherubims, shine forth.
2 Before Ephraim and Benjamin and Manasseh stir up thy strength, and come and save us.
3 Turn us again, O God, and cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved.
4 O LORD God of hosts, how long wilt thou be angry against the prayer of thy people?
5 Thou feedest them with the bread of tears; and givest them tears to drink in great measure.
6 Thou makest us a strife unto our neighbours: and our enemies laugh among themselves.
7 Turn us again, O God of hosts, and cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved.
8 Thou hast brought a vine out of Egypt: thou hast cast out the heathen, and planted it.
9 Thou preparedst room before it, and didst cause it to take deep root, and it filled the land.
10 The hills were covered with the shadow of it, and the boughs thereof were like the goodly cedars.
11 She sent out her boughs unto the sea, and her branches unto the river.
12 Why hast thou then broken down her hedges, so that all they which pass by the way do pluck her?
13 The boar out of the wood doth waste it, and the wild beast of the field doth devour it.
14 Return, we beseech thee, O God of hosts: look down from heaven, and behold, and visit this vine;
15 And the vineyard which thy right hand hath planted, and the branch that thou madest strong for thyself.
16 It is burned with fire, it is cut down: they perish at the rebuke of thy countenance.
17 Let thy hand be upon the man of thy right hand, upon the son of man whom thou madest strong for thyself.
18 So will not we go back from thee: quicken us, and we will call upon thy name.
19 Turn us again, O LORD God of hosts, cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved.

Psalms 23.1-6

1 The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will
dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

Now let’s talk about Jesus Christ the truth and the Almighty God.

John 15.26

26 But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me.

In the above passage, Jesus Christ said that He will send the comforter from the Father which is the Spirit of truth. Jesus Christ the truth will send the Spirit of truth. With the Power of the Holy Spirit, here Jesus is talking in the sender, yet he is Jesus Christ and as the Father, yet Jesus Christ. . Christ is the truth and He comes as the Spirit of truth or comforter. Do you see the analogy here. Jesus the truth sending Himself as the Spirit of truth or the comforter. He acted as the sender of the Spirit of truth from the Father which He is.

Jesus  Christ is surely the Father.  Jesus Christ is the Father. You can only understand this by the power of the Holy Spirit. You will understand it more in the scriptures below. Please ask the Holy Spirit to empower you, pray without ceasing and fast. To know that Jesus Christ is God, you need the power of the Holy Spirit.

John 16.13-15

13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.
14 He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.
15 All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you.

Below you can see that it only the Holy Spirit that can make you know the truth about Jesus Christ as the Almighty God.

John 16.7

7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.

This scripture makes it clearer. Jesus Christ says to the apostles that it is expedient for them or us that He goes back to Heaven. Why? So that He can send the Holy Spirit. Here Jesus Christ is the sender of the Holy Spirit or Comforter, yet He is the Comforter Himself.

Revelation 1.8

8 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.

5

Revelation 1.11-18

11 Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and, what thou seest, write in a book, and send it unto the seven churches which are in Asia; unto Ephesus, and unto Smyrna, and unto Pergamos, and unto Thyatira, and unto Sardis, and unto Philadelphia, and unto Laodicea.
12 And I turned to see the voice that spake with me. And being turned, I saw seven golden candlesticks;
13 And in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps with a golden girdle.
14 His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire;
15 And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters.
16 And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a sharp twoedged sword: and his countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength.
17 And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last:
18 I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.

You can see from the above passages, how Jesus Christ portrayed Himself as the Almighty God the truth.

John 1.1-5

1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 The same was in the beginning with God.
3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

John 16.8-15

8 And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:
9 Of sin, because they believe not on me;
10 Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more;
11 Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.
12 I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now.
Here Jesus Christ says that the comforter will receive of Him and show it to us.

6

15 All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you.

Then in the above passage verse 15, He actually made Himself the Father the owner of all things.

In the gospel of John 14.7

7 If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.

Jesus Christ plainly told the apostles that He is the Father. How? Jesus was standing before them as a grownup man and Philip ask Jesus Christ to show them the Father. Jesus Christ standing before them as a man told them He is the Father. What can be more plain than that?. It takes the Holy Spirit to make you to understand the teachings of Jesus Christ. How He portrayed Himself in a very unique and in an analogically ways, and logically.

He speaks in metaphors. He speaks in proverbs. He speaks in riddles. You have to ask the Holy Spirit to enlighten you. That is why Jesus Christ say those who worship God must worship Him in Spirit and truth. The Holy Spirit is our teacher, master, instrument, instructor, comforter, advocate, Paraclete. He is God.

John 4.24 He told the Jews that He was the “ I am” in the burning bush in the book of Exodus, He told the Jews that He was before Abraham and that Abraham saw His days and was glad.

John 8.56-58

56 Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad.
57 Then said the Jews unto him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham?
58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.

7

I tell you the truth, I cannot say categorically that if you had seen me, you have seen my father. Neither can you. I or you may look like our fathers but we can never-never be our fathers. When Jesus Christ claimed He is the Father, He is definitely is the Father. Look no further, Jesus Christ is the Almighty God.

Now let’s talk about Jesus Christ the life that is in everything in the heavens of heavens and on the earth, in the seas, rivers, lakes and under the earth.
