Believers as Spiritual Israelites
Please, churches, read these Bible scriptures to understand that as believers in our Lord Jesus Christ, you are spiritual Israelites according to the blessings God bestowed upon Abraham:
Abraham – Genesis 17:4-6
4. As for me, behold, my covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations.
5. Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee.
6. And I will make nations of thee, and kings shall come out of thee.
Isaac – Genesis 26:4
And I will make thy seed to multiply as the stars of heaven, and will give unto thy seed all these countries; and in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed.
Jacob – Genesis 27:27-28
27. And he came nearer, and kissed him: and he smelled the smell of his raiment, and blessed him, and said, See, the smell of my son is as the smell of a field which the Lord hath blessed.
Believers in Christ – Ephesians 2:22
In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.
Meditation and Obedience
Believers in Christ are encouraged to meditate on these scriptures and be filled with the power of the Holy Spirit. This requires repentance and a return to the worship of God on the seventh-day Sabbath.
Your position with Jewish believers in our Lord Jesus Christ is established through God’s words. These words show that Gentile believers cannot separate themselves from the commonwealth of Israel regarding:
-
God’s feasts
-
His Ten Commandments, written on our hearts by the Holy Spirit through the blood of Jesus Christ
This bond through the blood of Jesus Christ does not make Gentile believers Jews. It is not a requirement to become a Jew. However, God has clearly indicated that whatever He has commanded the Jews to do in faith, obedience, and love, Gentile believers must also follow wholeheartedly through faith in Jesus Christ, by the power of the Holy Spirit, and through the teachings of the Jewish disciples.
God’s Commandments and Jesus Christ
Jesus Christ commanded us to love God with all our hearts, minds, souls, and strength. He left His throne in heaven and came to earth as Emmanuel – “God with us.”
Isaiah 7:14
Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name “Immanuel.”
John 1:14
The Word became flesh and dwelt among us.
Jesus calls believers “set apart,” and these commandments are His own. They began in the Garden of Eden with Adam and Eve. The important question for all believers is: Where did the commandments of God start, and why is obeying them important for the world?
