In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth,
This is a prayer of confessions, repentances, and a plea for forgiveness on behalf of all the churches of our Lord Jesus Christ throughout the world.
We, the New Testament churches, now come before our Lord with the understanding that has come from the many explanations of the Holy Scriptures. Our hearts and minds have been opened to the gravity and terrible weight of our sins against our Lord Jesus Christ. We have rejected, neglected, and foolishly rebelled against His spoken words, which are Christ Himself.
We confess our failure to observe the Lord’s feast days as holy convocations, and we acknowledge our rejection of His Ten Commandments—especially the seventh-day Sabbath, which the Lord blessed and hallowed, and wrote upon our hearts and minds through the blood of Jesus Christ. This rejection is not only sinful but deeply wicked and shameful. We are truly ashamed and grieved by these, our greatest sins.
Now, we ask our Lord Jesus Christ to pour upon us the Spirit of confessions and repentances. With all our hearts, we say: We have sinned. We have sinned. We have sinned. We are deeply sorry. We denounce all sins, trespasses, unrighteousness, and every evil with broken hearts and contrite spirits.
We repent sincerely and wholeheartedly—with shame, remorse, and sorrow. We recognize how disheartening and disturbing it is to have sinned against our Lord. Please, Lord, we ask for your forgiveness. We come in sincere prayer, confessing and repenting, and asking for your mercy.
I, your servant—commanded and commissioned by you to sound this message loud and clear to your churches—now pray to the Lord our God and confess:
O Lord, the great and dreadful God, who keeps covenant and mercy with those who love you and keep your commandments: we have sinned. We have committed iniquity upon iniquity. We have done wickedly. We have rebelled by turning away from your spoken words, by rejecting your feast days, your holy convocations, your Ten Commandments, and your seventh-day Sabbath, which you blessed and hallowed and wrote on our hearts. We did not listen. We sinned terribly against you.
O gracious Lord, we acknowledge how we have sinned in ignorance and in rebellion. We, your New Testament churches, have transgressed your words for many years. We have not obeyed your will. We have committed the greatest sin any people could commit without being consumed. But because of your grace, you have given us time to repent.
To you, our God, belong mercy and forgiveness. Yet we rebelled. We now confess with sorrow and regret: we have sinned. We repent with broken and contrite spirits. Our sins are like a tsunami—greater than the sands of the sea. These sins should have condemned us, but your mercy has kept us alive so that we can confess and seek your forgiveness.
For your name’s sake, O Lord, we ask: forgive us. These sins have brought calamity, shame, and disgrace upon your churches. The weight of these sins is overwhelming. We are now in urgent need of serious and heartfelt confession and repentance. We renounce all evil and unrighteousness and ask your forgiveness—whether individually or collectively, or in any way true and sincere repentance demands.
We repeat again: the churches must offer complete and total confession and repentance.
We, the servants of the Lord, have made a shipwreck of the truth. We have led the churches into deep sin against our Lord Jesus Christ. For many years we sinned knowingly and significantly. We confess now the magnitude and weight of our hateful sins. We, the New Testament churches and our leaders, have sinned willingly, rebelliously, and have grieved the Lord Almighty.
I stand in the gap, as commanded, on behalf of all the churches of our Lord Jesus Christ. We acknowledge that we have no hiding place for our sins. We have provoked your wrath more than any generation. We did not do your will. We did not listen to your voice. We multiplied abominations and offenses. We sinned very badly.
Now we bow the knees of our hearts. We, your New Testament churches and our leaders, are deeply sorry. We beg for your mercy. We confess our grievous, shameful, and presumptuous sins. We regret all our iniquities and transgressions. We are very sorry. Please, Lord, forgive us. You are just in your anger, but please do not be angry forever.
You, Lord, are full of mercy and compassion—even toward those who repent. We ask you to show your goodness and save us, unworthy though we are, by your great mercy and love. Revive us with the fire of your spoken words. Let your churches praise you forever, as the hosts of heaven praise you.
Please, Lord Jesus Christ, revive your churches with your fire. Let us be free from these horrible sins we have committed for hundreds of years. Have mercy on us. Forgive us.
I, your servant, knowing how numerous and grievous these sins are, now repent sincerely of my own sins—with remorse, brokenness, and heartfelt sorrow. Though unworthy, I come as a repentant sinner under the grace of Jesus Christ. You have commanded me to proclaim this message of revival and forgiveness to your churches. We have now repented sincerely.
We are deeply sorry for our sins. We repent with sorrow and ask your forgiveness for your New Testament churches that have strayed entirely from your ways. We have sinned in words, deeds, and actions. Because of our sins, evil has crept into the churches. Leaders and members are behaving disgracefully at your altars, performing abominations and living in unrighteousness—worshipping on the sixth day of the week, which is the mark of the beast in Revelation 13.
These evils demand full repentance. We must turn from our horrible sins, denounce them, and truly repent. We failed to listen to the Holy Spirit, who was given to guide us into all truth. As written in John 16:13:
“When he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.”
O merciful Lord, we repent of our sins with everything in our being.
Amen.
