A Call to Repentance and Return to the Lord’s Commands
1. The Foundation: Thanksgiving and the Call to Stand Firm
We begin with the words of Paul in 2 Thessalonians 2:13–17:
13 But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:
14 Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
15 Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle.
16 Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace,
17 Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work.
These verses serve as the foundation of our exhortation: to stand firm in the truth, and not be led astray by the traditions and teachings of men.
2. The Prophecy Fulfilled: Changing of Times and Laws
In Daniel 7:25, we are warned:
25 And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.
This prophecy speaks directly to the corruption of God’s laws by the antichrist spirit—particularly the change from the seventh-day Sabbath to Sunday worship, now widely recognized as a mark of the beast (Revelation 13).
This “falling away” began when the Bishop of Rome elevated himself to supreme authority. This culminated in the formation of the Vatican, the smallest and wealthiest city-state, serving as the stronghold of what Scripture refers to as the beast system. This rise lasted 1260 years, fulfilling the time frame given in Daniel’s prophecy.
3. The Modern Church’s Departure from the Truth
Today, many New Testament churches:
-
Reject the Lord’s appointed feasts as holy convocations.
-
Do not recognize the biblical new year and its significance.
-
Forsake the Ten Commandments, especially the seventh-day Sabbath, which the Lord blessed and hallowed.
-
Instead, they honor man-made celebrations like Christmas, Easter, Valentine’s Day, and others, adopted from pagan traditions.
This departure is not just a tradition; it is rebellion against the Lord’s Word, which is Jesus Christ Himself (John 1:1).
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
4. The Mark of the Beast: Sunday Worship
Worshiping on Sunday, the sixth day of the week in this context, represents the mark of the beast. It’s a sign of allegiance to the beast system—a direct contradiction to the Lord’s command to keep the seventh day holy.
Revelation 18:4 calls out:
“Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.”
5. A Plea for Repentance
We, as the churches of Jesus Christ, must repent sincerely:
-
With broken hearts and contrite spirits.
-
Acknowledging the grievous sins of rejecting His commandments, His feasts, His calendar, and His truth.
-
Confessing our rebellion and ignorance.
-
Asking God to fill us with the Spirit of repentance.
6. Return to the Lord’s Ways
It is time to:
-
Observe the Lord’s feasts as holy convocations.
-
Accept the biblical new year as the beginning of the year and the first month as ordained by God.
-
Keep the Ten Commandments, including the seventh-day Sabbath, written on our hearts by the blood of Jesus.
These are not ceremonial laws, but the spoken words of the Lord, who does not change:
“I am the Lord, I change not.” – Malachi 3:6
7. Clothe Yourselves with the Whole Armor of God (Ephesians 6:10–20)
To stand against the antichrist deception, we must be fully equipped:
-
Truth as a belt.
-
Righteousness as a breastplate.
-
Gospel of peace as shoes.
-
Faith as a shield.
-
Salvation as a helmet.
-
The Word of God as the sword of the Spirit.
-
Prayer as a constant discipline.
8. Let Us Be Revived
Lord, revive your churches:
-
Pour out your Spirit.
-
Restore your truth in our hearts.
-
Take us out of the darkness of antichrist teachings.
-
Reestablish your seals upon your people.
Let us no longer defile the Lord’s temples with false feasts and pagan imagery, but return wholly to the living Word of God.
9. Final Appeal
Let us no longer say we have faith in Christ while rejecting His words, for that is to reject Christ Himself. Let us come out of Babylon, the system of lies, manipulation, and deception.
“Oh Lord, hear; Oh Lord, forgive; Oh Lord, hearken and do.”
