Check the Wardrobe of Your Hearts, Churches of Christ
Churches of Christ,
Check the wardrobe of your hearts:
Are you truly ready for the second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ—the head, the owner, the body of His Church, which He built with His own blood?
A Call to Watchfulness – Revelation 3:1–22 (KJV)
“I know thy works, that thou hast a name that thou livest, and art dead.” (Rev. 3:1)
The message to the seven churches speaks loudly today.
Are we alive in name only, but spiritually dead?
-
Be watchful. Strengthen the things that remain (v.2).
-
Remember, repent, and hold fast (v.3).
-
To those who overcome, Christ promises white garments and eternal life (v.5).
-
He stands at the door and knocks—will we open to Him? (v.20)
“He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.” (Rev. 3:6,13,22)
The Destiny of Christ’s Church – 1 Corinthians 15:24–28 (KJV)
“Then cometh the end, when He shall have delivered up the kingdom to God…” (v.24)
Jesus reigns now—until all enemies are under His feet.
Even death, the last enemy, will be destroyed.
Then, the Son will deliver the kingdom to the Father,
“…that God may be all in all.” (v.28)
The Eternal Purpose – Ephesians 1:10 (KJV)
“That in the dispensation of the fulness of times He might gather together in one all things in Christ…”
He will gather all—both in heaven and on earth—into one in Christ.
A Warning Against Deception – 2 Thessalonians 2:1–13 (KJV)
“Let no man deceive you…” (v.3)
Before Christ’s return, there will be a falling away.
The man of sin, the son of perdition, will be revealed.
He will exalt himself above God, working with signs and lying wonders (v.9).
Many will be deceived because they loved not the truth (v.10).
God will send a strong delusion upon them (v.11).
Yet there is hope:
“But we are bound to give thanks… because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth.” (v.13)
Final Reflection
Christ is coming again.
He will return as the victorious King, the Bridegroom of His Church.
Churches of Christ, are we clothed in white raiment—or are we lukewarm, blind, and naked?
Let us repent, be zealous, and prepare our hearts.
“Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.” (Revelation 3:11)
