Original Scriptural Reference – Deuteronomy 16:1–6

1. Observe the month of Abib, and keep the Passover unto the Lord thy God: for in the month of Abib the Lord thy God brought thee forth out of Egypt by night.
2. Thou shalt therefore sacrifice the Passover unto the Lord thy God, of the flock and the herd, in the place which the Lord shall choose to place his name there.
3. Thou shalt eat no leavened bread with it: seven days shalt thou eat unleavened bread therewith, even the bread of affliction; (for thou camest forth out of the land of Egypt in haste) that thou mayest remember the day when thou camest forth out of the land of Egypt all the days of thy life.
4. And there shall be no leavened bread seen with thee in all thy coasts seven days; neither shall any of the flesh, which thou sacrificedst the first day at even, remain all night until the morning.
5. Thou mayest not sacrifice the Passover within any of thy gates, which the Lord thy God giveth thee:
6. But at the place which the Lord thy God shall choose to place his name in, there thou shalt sacrifice the Passover at even, at the going down of the sun, at the season that thou camest forth out of Egypt.

Vision and Revelation About the “Falling Away”

In 1964, while I was in college, I received a vision from the Lord Jesus Christ. It revealed something unimaginable—the falling away of a man of sin known as Linus, the first Bishop of Rome. At the time, I kept silent, especially under the strong influence of reverend sisters and fathers. I completely forgot about the vision until July 15, when it returned to my memory.

Years later, while reading 2 Thessalonians 2, I reached the passage that says there must first be a “falling away” before the coming of the Lord. In that moment, the old vision returned to my mind so powerfully that I was shaken. The Holy Spirit helped me understand more about Linus and his role in this prophecy.

This is not my personal opinion or theory. The Lord Jesus Christ revealed this to me.

The Apostasy of Bishop Linus

Linus, out of pride, jealousy, and rebellion, sought to be honored like God. He read in the scriptures how angels honored the Lord and how God honored Jesus Christ. Wanting the same honor, he made a decision: to fall away from the authority of God and set himself up as God on earth.

At that time, the Roman Empire ruled much of the known world. Linus, being Roman, knew the Emperor Titus well. He carefully devised a deceitful plan, appealing to the Emperor’s love for idols and Roman tradition. Hiding his true motives, Linus proposed:

1. That the sun goddess of Rome be honored by dedicating the sixth day of the week to her.

2. That all Romans use that day as a rest day.

Titus approved. The first day of the week became sacred to the Roman sun goddess, and the sixth day became the official day of rest. This pleased the Roman people, and Linus had achieved his goal: he had started being honored like God.

Formation of the Roman Catholic Church

Linus didn’t stop there. He took with him fellow rebels and started a counterfeit church, naming it the Roman Catholic Church. He made himself its ruler, taking the title “Vicarius Filii Dei”—which means “Son of God to be worshipped.” He wore a mitre bearing that inscription and appointed officials (Cardinals, Priests, and others), none of whom were anointed by God but were empowered by Linus.

He had now become the Antichrist, directly opposing God and His true church.

Doctrinal Corruption and Blasphemy

As Linus grew in power, he declared himself Vicar of Christ, sitting in the temple of God as if he were God. He claimed authority to change God’s laws and altered scripture. He introduced:

• Idol worship and images of dead people.

• Prayers to angels and saints.

• The elevation of Mary as the “Queen of Heaven.”

• A shift from God’s feasts to manmade holidays like:

  • Christmas

  • Easter

  • Father’s Day, Mother’s Day

  • Valentine’s Day

• New doctrines like purgatory, All Saints’ Day, Ash Wednesday, and Corpus Christi.

He deceived governments and pretended holiness while opposing the truth. The Papacy that followed continued this blasphemy.

Emperor Constantine and the False Christian Identity

Another lie is the claim that Emperor Constantine was a Christian. He followed in Linus’s footsteps and remained a Roman Catholic. The Lord revealed that Constantine was never a true Christian, despite what many writers claim.

Modern Example: Pope Francis

In 2017, Pope Francis revealed a change to the Lord’s Prayer. He claimed the words “lead us not into temptation” were a flawed translation, and approved the version “do not let us fall into temptation” in Italian. This act is just one more example of Popes changing God’s words.

What he failed to acknowledge is that Popes themselves ordered the compilation of the Bible—so if the translation were flawed, they are to blame. His change shows his disrespect for God’s word.

Final Thoughts on the Antichrist and the Papacy

The truth about the Antichrist, the Beast of Revelation 13, and the Papacy is clear. Linus, the first Bishop of Rome, began the apostasy. The line of Popes that followed became successive Antichrists, enemies of God and the Church.

They twisted doctrine, deceived nations, and corrupted the true gospel. Linus, through deceit, lies, and manipulation, set up a kingdom in opposition to God. His successors continued the same path, altering scripture and misleading millions.

The Lord Jesus Christ has exposed all this, making it clear for those who are willing to hear.
