Four Stages in Daniel 7:25

He shall speak great words against the Most High
The Papacy is referred to as “His Holiness” and “His Excellency.” He is called the Vicar of Christ. According to the dictionary, a vicar is a deputy or substitute, someone who acts in the place of a superior. By definition, that makes him someone to be worshipped in place of God. This is blasphemy of the highest order. Who on earth can represent the Almighty God?The Pope excommunicates those who refuse to bow to statues or crucifixes or pray to Mary for intercession. Yet the Bible says in 1 John 2:1 that Jesus Christ is our only intercessor. The Papacy even claims that Jesus and Mary are co-creators. What world leader fits these abominations other than the Papacy?
He gives priests the authority to forgive sins, offering what they call absolution, defined as the formal release from guilt or punishment. However, forgiveness comes only from God through Jesus Christ.

He shall wear out the saints of the Most High
The Papacy persecuted and killed millions of faithful Christians who refused its doctrines. Many were burned, tortured, and martyred during the inquisitions and crusades. Those who stood for truth were branded as heretics. This directly fulfills the prophecy. -
He shall think to change times and laws
The Papacy changed God’s Sabbath from Saturday to Sunday and replaced God’s laws with church traditions. They claim the authority to do so, but God’s commandments cannot be changed. Jesus said, “Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will not pass away.” -
They shall be given into his hand for a time, times, and half a time
This refers to a prophetic period of 1,260 years during which the Papacy held great power and ruled over kings and nations. This era began in 538 AD and ended in 1798 when the Pope was taken captive by Napoleon’s general.
Doctrines Contrary to God’s Word
The Catholic Church teaches that there is a place called Purgatory, a temporary place of suffering for souls before they enter heaven. But this teaching has no biblical foundation. The Bible says, “It is appointed unto man once to die, and after this the judgment.”
They also forbid priests to marry, introduce sisterhoods with celibate nuns, and use titles like “Reverend Mother.” These are not commands from God. Rather, they are human traditions with no scriptural support.
The Church Hierarchy and Its Political Structure
The Catholic hierarchy is structured with priests, bishops, cardinals, and the pope. Bishops oversee dioceses. Archbishops oversee large dioceses called archdioceses. All are appointed by the pope, not called by God. The pope acts as both a religious and political leader, similar to a president, but for the whole world. Vatican City, where he lives, is a sovereign state. It has its own army, language, currency, and government. It is located within Rome but does not belong to the Italian government.
Every pope wears a ring bearing his name and title. People around the world kiss this ring as a sign of submission and loyalty. He is considered the highest authority on earth. Revelation 13 speaks of this when it says that all people, small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, will receive a mark on their right hand or forehead. This is symbolic of actions and thoughts. The Papacy’s influence over the minds and actions of people is deeply rooted in this prophecy.
The Holy Eucharist and the Mass
In the Catholic Mass, the bread and wine are believed to become the literal body and blood of Christ. But 1 Corinthians 11:20 to 34 teaches us that the bread and cup are symbols of remembrance, not literal flesh and blood. The Lord’s Supper is to be taken with self-examination and in remembrance of Jesus’ sacrifice. Anyone who partakes unworthily brings judgment upon himself.
Blasphemous Claims and Titles
The Papacy claims to be “as God on earth.” This is an exaltation that belongs to no man. The Pope is seen as more than human, above all others. He is believed to be incapable of error and commands obedience as if he were God.
The Papacy canonizes dead people, turning them into saints, while Scripture tells us that every true believer in Christ is already a saint, not through works or rituals, but by the blood of Jesus.
The use of relics, such as bones of dead people or their belongings, is another pagan practice adopted by the Papacy. All of this contradicts the word of God.
Mary as Queen of Heaven?
Where in the Bible is Mary crowned as queen of heaven? This title given to her by the Catholic Church is blasphemous. No man on earth has the authority to declare anyone in heaven as a queen. This is a direct violation of Scripture.
The Bible is clear in 1 John 2:1 to 2:
“My little children, I write these things to you so that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only, but for the sins of the whole world.”
Only Jesus is our intercessor. Only Jesus is worthy.
In Conclusion
Everything Daniel 7:25 warns us about is clearly visible in the actions, teachings, and structure of the Papacy. This is not just history. It is prophecy fulfilled. The Roman Catholic Church has elevated man to a position only God should hold. It has changed God’s laws, persecuted His saints, and spread doctrines contrary to Scripture.
The truth is found in God’s word alone, through the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Believers, I urge you to read the Scriptures prayerfully. Seek God’s truth with a sincere heart and allow His Spirit to lead you into all truth.
The deception is real, but so is the victory in Christ.
“You shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free.”
Do the above passages not show that the Antichrist is none other than the Papacy and all his followers worldwide?
1. Persecution of the Saints
The Papacy has worn out the saints of the Most High by wars, murders, and confiscation of their lives and possessions, reducing their numbers and weakening their strength, just like a garment worn thin. This persecution includes afflicting the saints who refused to accept false doctrines such as:

Not eating meat on Fridays

Bowing before handmade crucifixes

Making the sign of the cross on the forehead and shoulders before statues of Christ, Mary, or Papal saints

Attending Mass on Sunday (the sixth day of the week) instead of the Sabbath

Observing Roman Catholic feasts like Corpus Christi, which were not instituted by Christ

Praying to Mary or Papal saints for help, which true saints reject

Observing Ash Wednesday and other Papal holy days for the dead
These practices are the marks of the “man of sin,” the Antichrist, who has mistreated God’s saints throughout history.
2. Changing Times and Laws
The Papacy claims authority to change God’s laws and times. While the Julian calendar was corrected by Pope Gregory XIII in 1582 (the Gregorian calendar), the biblical calendar, including the week and the Sabbath, remains unchanged. Sunday is still considered the first day, and Saturday the seventh day, just as in biblical times.
God created days, months, and years as signs for seasons and sacred times (Genesis 1:14). His appointed feasts, New Year, and Sabbath are fixed and must be obeyed forever. God is not a God of confusion; His laws are perfect and eternal.
Paul warned in 2 Thessalonians 2:3 that before the “day” comes, a falling away will happen, revealing the man of sin—the Antichrist. This “revival” some churches expect is actually a turning away from God’s truth, rejecting His commandments and feasts set before the foundation of the world.
The Papacy has even altered divine law. The Catholic catechism removed the original Ten Commandments, divided them differently, and changed the fourth commandment (God’s seventh-day Sabbath) to the sixth day, violating Leviticus 23:14.
3. Given into His Hand — The 1260 Days
The phrase “given into his hand until a time, times, and the dividing of time” refers to the Papacy’s authority over worship on Sunday (the sixth day). Daniel 7:25 and other prophecies point to a period of 1260 days (interpreted as years) during which the Papacy held supremacy.
Though the Papacy was temporarily deposed by the French army in 1798, the doctrine of Sunday worship continues to this day. Anyone worshiping on Sunday accepts the Papal decree, which violates God’s commandments.
Jesus said in John 14:15, “If ye love Me, keep My commandments.” There is no legalism in obeying God’s seventh-day Sabbath—no rituals or sacrifices required. God’s feasts and New Year were established before creation to set His people apart.
Jesus Christ, who left His glory to save us, gave us the Holy Spirit to understand and obey God’s laws. The Holy Spirit teaches and reminds believers of these truths (John 14:26). The saints are “set apart” from the world (John 17:14), but many believers have lost sight of this.
4. The Role of the Holy Spirit and the True Gospel
God’s wisdom is like electricity powering many devices: one source, many uses. Likewise, God’s laws are perfect and should guide our lives.
Recall Exodus 31:1-6, where God empowered Bezaleel and Aholiab with wisdom to craft the Tabernacle—showing how God equips His people to follow His commands.
Christ set us free from sin (brought by Satan through disobedience in Eden), yet many celebrate worldly feasts destined to perish instead of God’s eternal feasts.
Jesus prayed not just for the Jews but also for Gentile believers to be united in truth (John 17:20). Christianity is personal, and at the name of Jesus, “every knee shall bow.”
5. The Deception of the Papacy and the Call to Truth
Do you want to obey a man who deceitfully changed the Lord’s day from the seventh-day Sabbath to Sunday? Think carefully and pray for the Holy Spirit’s guidance.
The Papacy has used power granted by God in ways that contradict His Word. Jesus told Pilate (John 19:9-11) that Pilate’s power came from above, meaning God allows certain things to fulfill prophecy.
The Papacy, described in Daniel 7:25, is the “man of sin,” who made himself a vicar of God and demands worship on earth, opposing the Creator.
Many believers have been blinded by false theories about barcodes or implants as the “number of the beast” (666), but the real truth is in the Papacy’s manipulation and deception.
The Roman Catholic Church is now dropping “Roman” from its name to mislead people, but prophecy reveals its true identity. Judgment begins with the churches (God’s house), and believers must face the truth honestly.
6. Biblical Foundation and the Commandments
God’s commandments did not start with Israel at Sinai; they began with Adam and Eve in Eden (Genesis 2:16-17). Satan twisted God’s Word, leading to humanity’s downfall.
Churches, is this the man you want to obey by worshiping on Sunday, or the Creator who set you apart and established a holy day for your honor and redemption?
In summary: The Papacy, empowered by God’s permissive will, is the Antichrist who changed God’s sacred laws, persecuted His saints, and deceived the world into false worship. The call for believers is to return to the true commandments, feasts, and Sabbath set by God before the world began. Jesus said, “You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” Meditate on this, pray for the Holy Spirit, and stand firm in God’s Word.
