Verses Often Misunderstood Regarding the Sabbath
Galatians 4:10
“You are observing special days and months and seasons and years!”
-
This is not a rejection of God’s Sabbath, but a rebuke of going back to man-made customs and rituals as a means of salvation.
Romans 14:5–6
“One person considers one day more sacred than another…”
-
This passage speaks about personal convictions, not dismissing God’s commands.
Colossians 2:16
“Do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day.”
-
Paul addresses ceremonial sabbaths, not the weekly Sabbath of the Ten Commandments.
Let the word of God speak.
Let the Spirit of God convict.
And may we all rest in His truth.
- The truth about the books below.
- After the Babylonian exile, the Jewish rabbis began to meticulous rules and regulations governing the daily life of the people. These were interpretations and application of the law that God gave Moses which he handed down from generation to generation. In Jesus day, this tradition of the elders was in oral form. It was not until A>D 200 that it was put into writings in the Mishmash and incorporated to the Torah.
- Dear readers,
- before I go further, It is of vital importance to talk about the books of Galatians 4:10; Romans 14:5&6; Colossians 2:16.
- The controversy about the letters of Paul to the Galatians 4:10; Romans 14: 5&6; and Colossians 2:16
- Dear readers, there has been questions raised concerning the
- Epistle of Paul on the issues of :
- Galatians 4:10.
- Romans 14:5&6
- Colossians 2:16.
- Jesus Christ gave us plainly the hypocrisy of the Pharisees in adding to the work of God which they called works of law or works of law contrary to the laws of God.
- In the book of Mathew, chapter 23:1-39,Jesus was rebuking the Pharisees and the Scribes about their oral laws that they called works of the laws which they have made to supersede the Ten commandments of God, Jesus said Then space Jesus to the multitude, and to His disciples, saying, The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses seat: All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; “BUT DO NOT YE THEIR WORKS: FOR THEY SAY, AND DO NOT.” For they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay them on men’s shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers. But all their works they do for to be seen of men; they make their phylacteries, and enlarge the borders of their garments. Please read the rest of the chapter. You can see from the scriptures that Christ always rebuke them because of the addition they made to the Laws of God which they call oral laws or works of the laws.
- Let me conclude this controversy with the hypocrisy of the Pharisees and the scribes in John 8:3-11
- The Lord our God is not a man that He should lay, He had spoken, who can annul it.
- Add here Deuteronomy 27:1-10
John 8:3–11 (KJV)
Jesus and the Woman Caught in Adultery
3 And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto Him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst,
4 They say unto Him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act.
5 Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest Thou?
6 This they said, tempting Him, that they might have to accuse Him. But Jesus stooped down, and with His finger wrote on the ground, as though He heard them not.
7 So when they continued asking Him, He lifted up Himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.
8 And again He stooped down, and wrote on the ground.
9 And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last. And Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst.
10 When Jesus had lifted up Himself, and saw none but the woman, He said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? Hath no man condemned thee?
11 She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.
Deuteronomy 22:22 (KJV)
22 If a man be found lying with a woman married to a husband, then they shall both of them die, both the man that lay with the woman, and the woman: so shalt thou put away evil from Israel.
Dear Readers: A Question for Reflection
Please compare these two passages above. Where was the man who committed adultery with the woman? Why was only the woman brought forward? This shows partiality and hypocrisy, something Jesus exposed by appealing to conscience rather than legalism.
Understanding Dispensations
At this point, it’s important to understand how God tests His people through periods known as dispensations.
What Is a Dispensation?
A dispensation is a period in history during which God tests humanity’s obedience to a specific revelation of His will. The Bible outlines seven major dispensations:
1. The Dispensation of Innocence
-
Scripture: Genesis 1:26–2:24
-
Test: Adam and Eve were created innocent and placed in the Garden of Eden with one commandment (Genesis 2:16–17).
-
Failure: The woman fell through deception; the man sinned deliberately (1 Timothy 2:14).
-
Judgment: Expulsion from Eden (Genesis 3).
2. The Dispensation of Conscience
-
Scripture: Genesis 3:22 onward
-
Humanity lived according to conscience and knowledge of good and evil. This led to corruption, violence, and eventually the flood.
3. The Dispensation of Human Government
-
Scripture: Genesis 8:20–11
-
After the flood, God gave humans responsibility to govern, but it resulted in pride and the Tower of Babel.
4. The Dispensation of Promise
-
Scripture: Genesis 12 onward
-
God made promises to Abraham and his descendants. Their faith was tested, but many failed to trust God fully.
5. The Dispensation of the Law
-
Scripture: Exodus 19:8 onward
-
God gave the Law to Israel through Moses. It included moral, ceremonial, and civil laws.
-
This dispensation ended in failure, as Israel repeatedly broke the covenant.
6. The Dispensation of Grace
-
Scripture: John 1:17
-
Jesus Christ brought grace and truth. In this age, we are saved through faith in Christ, not by works. If we sin and confess, His blood cleanses us.
7. The Dispensation of the Fullness of Time (The Kingdom Age)
-
Coming soon. This is the final dispensation, where perfection is required. It will be marked by the rule of Christ and the full establishment of God’s Kingdom.
In Every Dispensation, Mankind Has Failed
Despite God’s grace and guidance, human nature has continually fallen short. But through Christ and His Spirit, we are called to obedience and transformation. In the dispensation of grace, God has given us the Ten Commandments to guide us. Yet even here, many have turned away.
The 7th Day Sabbath: God’s Commandment Neglected
Of all the Ten Commandments, the seventh-day Sabbath has been most neglected.
Perhaps it is for this very reason that God has called me to write and share this message—to set the record straight about the true Sabbath before the return of Christ. The Sabbath has long been desecrated. As the Lord continued to give me insight, I began reading the Bible with the help of the Holy Spirit, the Comforter, who became my source of guidance.
“But the Comforter, which is the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He shall teach you all things and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.” – John 14:26
A Prayer and a Hope
I pray that this message about the Ten Commandments and the seventh-day Sabbath touches the hearts of believers across the world—spiritually and deeply.
This is not just a call to information, but a call to obedience and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ—the one who was, who is, and who is to come. The Almighty God of both the Old and the New Testaments, who shed His precious blood for the remission of our sins.
The Life Is in the Blood
Do you know, dear reader, that the blood is life?
-
Genesis 9:4: “But flesh with the life thereof, which is the blood thereof, shall ye not eat.”
-
Acts 15:29: “Abstain from blood…”
Though many don’t speak about it today, the truth remains: Jesus gave His life—His blood—for us.
The 7th Day Sabbath: A Mark of Separation
God used the seventh-day Sabbath as a sign to separate His people from the rest of the world. More on God’s laws of separation will follow.
A Final Word of Advice
If you have ears, please hear. If you have eyes, see with your spiritual eyes and understand what God’s Word is saying to you through this message.
Let the Holy Spirit reveal the truth.
Let Christ be glorified in your obedience.
And may we all be found faithful in the day of His return.
