The visions that God showed me concerning the seventh day Sabbath

Biblical References to the 7th Day Sabbath: From Genesis to Revelation

Throughout Scripture, from the very beginning in Genesis to the final chapters of Revelation, God consistently emphasizes the 7th day Sabbath as a holy day set apart for Him. Below are direct references from both the Old and New Testaments showing its significance.

Genesis

• Genesis 2:1–3 – God Himself rested from all His work.
  The Sabbath (cessation) was instituted by God at creation.

Exodus

• Exodus 16:23 – Tomorrow is the rest of the holy Sabbath.

• Exodus 16:25 – Today is a Sabbath unto the Lord.

• Exodus 16:26 – The seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord.

• Exodus 16:29 – The Lord has given you the Sabbath.

• Exodus 20:8 – Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.

• Exodus 20:11 – Wherefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.

• Exodus 31:14–16 – The Sabbath is holy. Whoever defiles it shall be put to death. Keep the Sabbath throughout your generations.

• Exodus 35:2 – It shall be to you a holy day, a Sabbath of rest.

Numbers

• Numbers 15:32 – A man was found gathering sticks on the Sabbath day.

Gospels: Teachings and Actions of Jesus

• Matthew 12:1–2 – Jesus went through the grainfields on the Sabbath; it is lawful to do well on the Sabbath.
  Jesus corrects the misuse of Sabbath laws, affirming that doing good is in line with Sabbath observance.

• Mark 1:21 – Jesus entered the synagogue and taught on the Sabbath.

• Mark 2:27–28 – The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath. The Son of Man is Lord also of the Sabbath.
  The word “man” here refers to mankind, as previously explained, meaning all people, not just Jews.

• Luke 4:16, 4:31 – Jesus taught in the synagogue on the Sabbath.

• Luke 23:56 – The women rested on the Sabbath according to the commandment.

Acts: The Apostles Continue Sabbath Observance

• Acts 13:27, 42, 44 – Scriptures read and preached on the Sabbath.

• Acts 15:21 – Moses is read in the synagogues every Sabbath.

• Acts 16:13, 17:2 – Paul and others gathered and reasoned on the Sabbath.

1 John 2:3–8

“By this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments. He who says, ‘I know Him,’ and does not keep His commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him.”

Here is the patience of the saints: here are those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus.

Why the Sabbath Matters Today

We invite you to enjoy the Sabbath with us. As Christians, we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior and await His second coming. He is the Creator of all things and the one who:

• Instituted the 7th day Sabbath

• Created marriage

• Established the Last Supper

• Gave us the Ten Commandments

“If you love Me, keep My commandments.” — John 14:15

The Sabbath is God’s appointed day for worship, healing, and doing good works. It’s not for our personal labor or business.

Christ’s Summary of the Commandments

Jesus summarized all of God’s laws into two principles:

1. Love God with all your heart, soul, and mind.

2. Love your neighbor as yourself.

The Sabbath: For All, Not Just Jews

• Jesus said He is Lord of the Sabbath (Mark 2:27–28)

• He kept the Sabbath (Luke 13:10, Mark 16:18)

• The apostles kept the Sabbath (Acts 17:2, 16:13)

• The Sabbath was instituted before sin, before marriage, and before the Lord’s Prayer.

The Change of the Sabbath Day

The Bible prophesied a change in God’s laws:

Daniel 7:25 – “He shall speak great words against the Most High… and think to change times and laws…”

This prophecy was fulfilled:

• AD 336 – The Council of Laodicea, under the Papacy in Rome, officially changed Sabbath observance from Saturday to Sunday.

• 1582 – Pope Gregory XIII introduced the Gregorian calendar, dropping 10 days, yet the weekly cycle remained unchanged.

Jesus lived under the Roman calendar.
The same 7-day week we use today is the one Jesus used.
Saturday remains the 7th day of the week.

Despite the influence of Roman culture and calendar systems, the 7-day week that God created in Genesis remains untouched. God’s rhythm for time hasn’t changed. The seventh day is still the Sabbath.
